Today the front fenders came off, as well as the core support. A few bolts were difficult, one had to be cut off (used the new Dewalt grinder). It looks like I'll need a lot of new hardware when it comes to reassembly, but the fenders and inner fenders look like they are in pretty good condition. The hood and inner fenders will come off next.
Decided to pull the engine as winter approaches and the engine rebuild will make a good winter project. Not too difficult to pull an engine with the body out of the way. Still not totally sure what path I will take on the rebuild. Some will depend on the condition of the block, heads, etc.. Anyway, next step is disassembly of the 352 FE engine.
Finished removing everything from the block. Now I need to get measurements to figure out what someone had done here. Unknown piston/bore sizing, unknown cam and crank, and unknown heads (different casting numbers on them). I'll be on the lookout for a good local machine shop to have the block thoroughly checked out. Then I can make my decisions on what to keep and what to replace/upgrade. Not sure what method you call this, as far as the installation of the rear crank cap. That was a pain to remove.
