Begin Disassembly

Engine transferred to the stand.  This engine was definitely out in the weather for a considerable amount of time.

Began disassembly.  Removal of the valve covers was enlightening to say the least.  Although I noticed the valve springs seemed to be in good condition.... interesting.

Removed the infamous heavy intake manifold.  Used the engine hoist to save my back.

Oil galley was surprising as well, despite the rusty ooze in one corner.  Hmmm.

Got one head off and the pistons look like they haven't been run yet.  Still have cross-hatching on the cylinder walls.  Someone has been in here.  The valves also look like they haven't seen any use.  And the timing chain looks new as well.

Well, still a lot to do but I may be able to utilize someone's work, after an in-depth analysis of course.  Next I will pull the pistons, cam, and crank to do some measuring and see what I really have.  Block numbers indicate 352, not just the 352 casting mark but the other markings as well.  Although the heads seem to have 2 different markings, I'll investigate that.  Having fun so far, anxious to keep moving forward.
